How long has the band been together?
The band has been together for 6 years, and many of the band members have been doing weddings for 15 years.
How does payment work for the band?
The office takes a non-refundable deposit in the form of cash, check or credit card at the signing of the contract to hold the date. Your balance will be due the day of the affair, by way of cash or certified bank check.
How many breaks does the band take?
Depending on how many food courses you are having, the band breaks for dinner orders, which takes 10 min. Then a break for dinner which can be 20 min., and also sometimes for dessert. Soft background music is always played by a musician or CDs.
What does the band wear at the reception?
The male members of the band always wear a full formal tuxedo. Janean (our Lead Female Vocalist) dresses in a conservative black gown with an optional tuxedo jacket.
What time does the band arrive on the day of the wedding?
The band arrives at the service entrance of the catering hall 2 hours before the guests arrive. All the equipment cases, jackets, wires, etc. are stored away out of view.
What songs will the band play?
Musical selections are usually a compromise between the band and the bride and groom. You may select songs from our master list, add a few songs that are not on our list, and cross out any songs you do not wish to hear. The band will play the songs in an order that will keep the guests continually dancing.
Will there be enough room for the band?
The band you see has performed in the smallest areas in front of 100 guests and has set up on stages in front of 3,000 people. We can adjust to work under the most difficult and challenging conditions without volume problems.
Is the band covered under an insurance policy?
The band is covered under a two million dollar policy which includes liability and medical, in case of a mishap with the bandstand or equipment.
Are the band members we see going to be the musicians we get?
The band is a rehearsed and set group, always performing with the same members. The very same people you see at our showcase or on our DVD will be at the wedding, and all their names will be on the contract.
What if a band member gets sick?
Every precaution is taken by each band member to maintain a healthy lifestyle and try to keep his or her downtime due to illness at a minimum. In the unlikely event that a band member does get ill, he or she will be replaced by an equally talented performer.
What if we cancel the wedding?
The office takes a deposit to hold the date and in return will not book another wedding. If you cancel, your deposit is non-refundable.
Can I book fewer musicians?
The band is structured and rehearsed in a way that provides an extremely wide range of musicial versatility, because of the different instruments you see. For a smaller affair we can downsize the band to your requirements.
How will I make my final reception arrangements?
The office will contact you starting two months prior to the wedding date, and will send you song sheets and suggestions to help you pick the best songs for the affair. At this time we will touch on the bridal line up, protocol songs.
Do I have to feed the band?
Sometimes the catering hall charges you half price for the band to eat at your reception. Usually they supply free meals or sandwiches. The band appreciates the gesture, although it is not mandatory. We ask that you let us know so we may make provisions on our own if the band will not be fed...thank you!
Do you play CDs?
Although you are hiring a live band to play at the reception, we have a professional CD mixer built in to our state of the art sound system. If you have a certain song or songs to be played we can accommodate the request.
Will the band be too loud?
The band travels with a professional two-man sound crew, which will dedicate their talents to monitor the volume throughout the party. The loudest volume level will be during full-blown dancing with a packed dance floor. The lowest level will be during dinner so guests can converse at a normal speaking level. Volume is never a problem.
Can one of my guests get up and sing or play with the band?
We welcome any one of your guests to come up and sing or play a song alone or with the band for a special dedication or just for fun. If you know ahead of time, please notify the band so we may prepare the proper song, key, etc. to ensure a professional performance the day of your wedding.
Does Phil the bandleader have the power to run my special day?
Usually every catering hall has a professional maitre d' to make sure your wedding day will be a success. Sometimes Phil will step in if the person in charge is not doing the job they are supposed to be doing to make the wedding a truly memorable day.
Do you carry back up equipment?
Yes we do – microphones, amplifiers, speakers, wires, etc.
